FEATURING
ONE OF THE FINEST
COACHING STAFFS IN THE COUNTRY
Jenny
Graap Cornell University Head Coach
An All-American at Cornell in
1986, she returned to her alma mater as Head Women's Lacrosse Coach
in 1997. Two seasons ago Graap led the Big Red to a third place finish
in the NCAA Championships and was named the "National Coach of the
Year."
Before coming to Cornell, Graap
had been the head women's lacrosse coach at George Mason University.
She started the Mason program in 1993 and built it to national prominence
during her four years at the helm. From 1990-93 Graap was an
assistant lacrosse coach at Penn State while earning a master's degree
in exercise and sport science-sport administration. During her time
with the Nittany Lions, they made three NCAA tournament appearances.
As an undergraduate, Graap twice
captained both the field hockey and lacrosse teams at Cornell, earning
four letters in each sport. She was second-team All-Ivy in field hockey
as a senior, and ranks 11th on the Cornell all-time list for points
scored in a career, with 11 goals and two assists. In 1986,
Jenny was named to the Brine Regional All-America lacrosse team, and
she finished her career 11th on the all-time school points list with
91. She is also 11th in career goals with 61 and tied for seventh
in assists with eleven.

An All-America goalkeeper at
the University of Delaware, Laurie joined the Big Red staff after
finishing a stellar career for the Blue Hens. The four-year starter
was a three-time, first-team all-region selection. As a senior captain,
she earned third-team IWLCA All-America and first team Academic All-America
honors.
A first-team America East selection
in 2001 and conference Rookie of the Year in 1999, Tortorelli finished
her career ranked second in career saves (754), goals allowed average
(9.35), save percentage (.560) and minutes played (3,797). She was
named most valuable player by her teammates in 2002.

Suzie Friedrich
Cornell Assistant Coach Suzie Friedrich, who served as head coach at Division
III Washington College for the last five years, was named assistant
women's lacrosse coach at Cornell University in July 2008.
Friedrich coached four all-region selections, including
first-team selection Lindsay Fox, during her tenure and posted a 34-50
overall record. Her teams have matched or increased the previous year's
win total each of the last three years, including posting an 8-8 record
during the 2008 campaign. Her 2004 team set a school record for goals
in a game with a 24-14 win over Muhlenberg. Among her former players
is the school's all-time assist leader, Lindsey Eichner, whose 136
assists rank among the top 20 all-time in Division III. Eichner also
set the school record for assists in a season with 48 in 2004.
Prior to her time at Washington, Friedrich was at
Garrison Forest School, coaching junior varsity lacrosse and middle
school basketball during the 2002-03 school year. She also coached

State, Merestead and Washington College lacrosse camps. She served
as the United States Women's Lacrosse Association National Chair for
Schoolgirl All-Americans from 1993-97 and the USLWA Baltimore Schoolgirl
Chair from 1993-98.
Friedrich served as athletic director and head of
the physical education department at St. Paul's School for Girls from
1997-2000. During that time, she coached lacrosse at both the varsity
