2009 Skill Development Boys and girls ages 8-18 The Cornell Skill Development Swim Camps will have a skill and technique based focus. Swimmers will learn theories behind each of the four competitive strokes by listening to lectures given by NCAA coaches, high school coaches, and former NCAA athletes. Swim sessions will be dedicated to teaching and applying correct technique to each camper's stroke. Campers will be split into small groups with an assigned coach so that they receive more individual attention during all sessions. Start/turn work, dryland, and other training aspects will be included! Resident campers participate in our evening recreation program. The camp is held at the Cornell University main campus in Ithaca, New York. Campers must be comfortable being in the pool for up to an hour at one time. It is recommended that resident campers ages 10-12 attend camp with a friend/roommate.
