camp itinerary
The advanced tennis camps are for boys and girls ages
12-18 and feature two sessions each day. These camps are under the
direction of Women’s Head Coach Rob Weiss. Coach Weiss provides
each player with an individual evaluation of their strokes to correct
and improve their techniques. He will help each player better understand
the proper way to set up a point and learn when to hit certain shots.
He and his coaching staff will teach campers when to play offense,
defense and when to neutralize a shot to stay in the point.
Tapping into the experience Coach Weiss gained while
playing on the ATP tour at events such as Wimbledon, Australian Open,
French Open and the US Open, will allow him to pass on personnel insight
into the work ethic and focus that is required in order to be successful
at any level.
During instruction, each camper will be video taped and their strokes
will be personally broken down and evaluated by Coach Weiss. Campers
will also have the opportunity to play in singles and doubles tournaments
set up in a format like the World Team Tennis and Davis Cup events.
Resident camp includes lodging
and meals in one of our award winning dining halls. Resident campers
will participate in evening recreation each day. Activities include
recreational sports, swimming, miniature golf, bowling, movies, nature
walks and go-carting. The resident camp features
a commuter option for local campers. Commuter campers receive
all of the same tennis instruction as residents and a delicious hot
meal each day, but do not participate in evening recreation. All campers
receive a FREE
camp t-shirt.
