The Big Red Wrestling Technique Camp is designed
for teams and individuals who are seeking to learn advanced techniques
and drills that will help each wrestler reach his full potential.
The Cornell coaching staff teaches a philosophy and techniques in
a system that works equally well for beginner, intermediate and advanced
wrestlers. The skills presented by Cornell's accomplished coaches
have been proven at the intercollegiate and international levels.
The Technique Camp features two hours of
instruction in the morning and afternoon. The evening session provides
campers with the opportunity to select the option of their choice.
Options include: live wrestling, video review of advanced wrestling,
play wrestling related games, education about goal setting, mental
preparation, nutrition and strength training, or participation in
the evening recreation
program.
Campers receive a FREE Cornell camp T-shirt.

Many
of the Cornell Big Red
wrestlers will assist with instructing and counseling both
on and off the mats!
Camp Information
Schedule Registration will be held at Robert
Purcell Community Center on the first day of camp. A camper orientation
will be held following check in, followed by dinner. After dinner
camp counselors will take campers to the first instructional session
and matches. Refer to the camp itinerary (above) for exact times.
Team Discounts
If ten or more campers from the same school
or club register together, there is a discount of $10
off of the fee. Applications must be mailed in as a group for the
a team discount to apply.
Facilities
Our facilities include the Friedman
Wrestling Center, Barton Hall (room for 18 mats), world-class
dining halls, swimming pool, full-time training staff, indoor turf
field, and Friedman Strength and Conditioning Center.
What to Bring
Please bring plenty of clean workout gear, headgear,
wrestling shoes, knee pads, etc. You will need linens, pillow, alarm
clock, towels, and disinfectant soap (Dial, etc.). Cornell’s
residence halls are not equipped with air conditioning, you may wish
to bring a fan and a
a swimsuit for optional swimming.
Transportation
We will pick up campers at the Ithaca Airport
or bus station. You MUST contact us in writing, with arrival
mode, date and time, by June 1. There is a $25
round trip fee for this service. Sorry, we do not offer pick up from
the Syracuse, Binghamton or Elmira airports.
