2009 Rock Climbing
Day Camps

July 13-17 and
July 20-24
Camp itinerary

For boys and girls ages 8-18

Rock Climbing day camps are offered by Cornell's outstanding Outdoor Education program (COE). All day camps feature two climbing sessions per day and run Monday-Friday. Climbing sessions are held on Cornell's Kay Bouldering Wall and Lindseth Climbing Wall in Ithaca, New York, the largest real rock indoor climbing wall in North America. Each session features two hours of climbing instruction by COE's experienced instructors. Campers learn the skills, techniques and strategies needed to become accomplished climbers. Campers will also travel to the Hoffman Challenge Course for adventure and instruction on the high ropes course. They may also learn to set up a Tyrolean Traverse and cross Beebe Gorge high above Fall Creek in Cornell's Plantations.

Rock climbing is an exciting and physically engaging sport, so some rest time is needed during the day as well. During these breaks from climbing, campers will explore the fields, forests, and gorges of Ithaca, learning some outdoor skills and local natural history from COE's talented instructors. All campers receive a FREE Cornell camp T-shirt. Cornell also offers residential rock climbing camps.
